Community Project Guidance Notes The County Council and the Home Office has established a community safety budget to support projects that will assist in the delivery of the local community safety strategy. This page outlines the process for applying for this funding. The County Council is a statutory partner in eight district-based Community Safety Partnerships. Each Community Safety Partnership is required to conduct an audit and publish a Community Safety Strategy every three years. The strategy has to include targets and timescales for delivering the strategy. Criteria for Proposals for Funding The funding is available to support the costs of projects that will help deliver the local community safety strategy. Project proposals must be based on a need identified in the Community Safety Strategy, detailed in the action plans and supported by the Partnership. Funding will not normally be approved for posts, or partnership development. The funding can be used as match funding, up to a maximum of 50%, where other funding is available. Funding cannot be used to replace core funding. Where appropriate 100% of the cost of a project can be funded. There are 7 criteria to assist with the application and decision making process. Criteria 1-5 are essential, and a process of short-listing applications will be applied, with a weighting on those criteria marked with an asterisk. Essential Criteria:
