Renishaw Clean Up

Following the successes of the previous Clean Ups, Renishaw is now the focus of our attention.

Kicking off at 8:00 am on Wednesday March 5, the Clean Up teams will start cleaning up the streets of a section of a housing estate in the village. Spring Close, Emmett Carr Lane, Emmett Carr Close, Brook Street, The Wynd and Garden Avenue are earmarked for visits.

Residents of these streets are required to bring all bulk waste and unwanted goods on to the pavements by 8:00am to be taken away by the waste collection team and disposed of.  Each property will be visited by pairs of Police Officers, PCSO, Community Safety staff, Housing Champions, Firemen, or Neighbourhood Watch volunteers giving security and fire prevention advice.  Householder will have the opportunity of a security survey and fire safety check, and a free upgrade will be offered if necessary.  Smartwater will applied to each household if someone is in on the day.

Clean Up was initially funded by Derbyshire County Council to make a visible positive impact, and make a difference on three chosen communities within the district.  These were such a hugh success that the Community Safety Partnership took the decision to seek funding to have extra events.  This is the second of such with the first been in Killamarsh in Janurary.
