Welcome to the North East Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership Website We hope you find the site interesting and informative. The various sections of our site are indicated in the navigation list on the left. North East Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership has the remit of reducing crime and disorder across the North East Derbyshire District area. We are well aware that crime and disorder is the prime public concern. The Partnership and its member agencies are determined to tackle these issues and, thereby, improve the quality of life of our local communities. Its main aims are outlined in the Strategy, and our approach is to achieve these through working with local communities. Much of our work is in liaison with Community Safety Local Action Groups, Parish Councils, Tenants and Residents Groups and, latterly, Neighbourhood Partnerships. We also work as a theme group on crime and community safety within CHART, the Local Strategic Partnership for North East Derbyshire and Chesterfield Borough areas. We are also aware that the agencies cannot be effective by working alone. We need the support of the local communities in helping to identify problems and formulate appropriate solutions. They also need to be involved in the local crime prevention activities we undertake. For example, by taking up the crime prevention advice and becoming involved in running youth activities, such as running 'drop-in' centre. Photo:- The Community Safety Team.
